After clinical work in hospitals for some years, I specialised in public health, and for much of my time in that area, I was involved in inter-agency work in Wessex, particularly the WHO Health for All and Healthy Cities initiatives.
Later I became involved in training and was the Head of School for Public Health at Health Education England (Wessex).
In 2014, I started the Wessex Global Health Network in order to provide a way for those involved or interested in global health to connect with each other and to learn more about global health. Its fortnightly newsletters are now co-edited by the University of Plymouth Global Health Collaborative for wider circulation across the South and South West of England.
