National apprenticeship standards

The University of Plymouth's portfolio of apprenticeships have been designed in collaboration with Healthcare employers and align with nationally approved apprenticeship standards, that reflect the job roles for which the apprentice trains.
We offer a range of flexible and accessible work-based degrees that lead to professional registration.

The biggest benefit from this whole programme has given me a deep sense of confidence in my ability to serve the public and it’s given me analytical skills which I now apply across many aspects of my life. It has been ideal for me as a parent, enabling me to maintain a family work life balance without getting into huge debt or putting my life on hold. Whilst it required discipline, time management and study outside of work hours, the rewards are priceless.

(CAP) has offered me a unique opportunity to grow both academically and professionally .... It's provided me with a mixture of clinical based activity but also academic study, so this is an excellent opportunity to apply what you are learning into a clinical setting.

Victoria Partington-Smith, Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist.
In this short video, Victoria shares her experience of the MSc Clinical Associate in Psychology Degree Apprenticeship.

So this is an ideal way to train people. You end up with someone who knows all the stuff but works in the way you would like them to work and fits into your practice well.

Sarah Mochan, Podiatrist, Body & Sole, Skegness.

The programme has provided me with a mixture of clinical based activity but also academic study. So this is an excellent opportunity to apply what you’re learning into a clinical setting. I feel it’s given me much more confidence as a trainee CAP, because I can work autonomously as an individual but also work closely under clinical supervision.

"At school I was told I wasn’t clever enough to be a nurse… but I’ve worked my way up through healthcare, had some outstanding study support, and I know this is what I’m meant to do."
