This will be followed by a Creative Talk by Associate Professor of Theatre and Performance, Ruth Way and others, introducing somatic movement arts and a discussion of these applied somatic movement approaches to support well-being and ‘being in movement’ throughout our lives. An informal Q & A session will follow to invite questions and creative dialogue.
Ruth Way is an Associate Professor in Theatre and Performance at the University of Plymouth. Ruth is a trained and certified somatic movement educator and teacher from Eastwest Somatics Institute (USA) and registered with the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA). Ruth is working in partnership with Age UK, Plymouth to deliver somatically informed workshops aligned to her research focus on applied somatic movement arts for well-being.
