Inspired by true events, this powerful investigative drama depicts how two New York Times reporters, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, uncovered the widespread sexual abuse of women by Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
She Said follows the journalists’ painstaking research, gradually piecing together a horrifying trail of systemic misconduct that leads to Weinstein, and their fight to expose the truth despite a culture of silence and fear and the non-disclosure agreements that prevented many survivors from speaking out.
Mulligan and Kazan convincingly capture Kantor and Twohey’s determination to support each other, and the women whose experiences they have uncovered. With a nod to the likes of Spotlight and All the President’s Men, this is a gripping account of a pivotal cultural moment that helped to mobilise the #MeToo movement.
