What if YOU got to decide a student's module grade?
Life is a test... and, as assessments become increasingly frequent, it has never been more important to ask ourselves: Are we meeting the criteria?

Join BA (Hons) Drama second-year students for an entertaining and informative* exploration of assessment in performing arts.
As audience members, you will be asked to determine how well the performers have scored against the (real!) criteria for their Performance Practice module:
- Will they successfully ‘demonstrate a capacity to apply contemporary performance-making practices in generating material to contribute to an original performance piece’?
- How well will they 'work individually and as part of a group to achieve objectives and contribute to the successful construction of the performance'?
- Who knows what will happen as they attempt to ‘demonstrate practical skills in producing a performance event, including technical aspects of theatre as well as performance skills’?
- When the curtain falls, will you be convinced they have ‘demonstrated a working knowledge of contemporary approaches to performance dramaturgy in the structure of the work that is presented’?
The only thing that’s certain about this performance is that, in the end, marks will be awarded – and you will have a part to play in deciding the students’ fate*.
This is truly live theatre, but it is not fiction. The assessment and criteria are real**.
How will you mark their efforts?
Will they meet the criteria?
*Your experience may differ.
