It's your future, make it count

Hear our students’ stories in their own words and find out how our students overcame their initial hurdles to succeed through Clearing.

I applied to the University of Plymouth because I’m from Plymouth, so I know the area and the city, and because I’d visited lots of different universities and I hadn’t really clicked with them or enjoyed the cities like I enjoy it here. I thought, 'If I’m really missing home, and it has a good university, then why don’t I just stay?'

The University of Plymouth has a great campus and is in a beautiful location – with beaches, Dartmoor and the Barbican nearby. Plymouth also offers a fantastic law degree providing loads of support and offering me opportunities to connect with professionals. With Plymouth, it was a no-brainer. I knew it was where I belonged.

Have you considered a foundation year?

A foundation year is an alternative way to gain an undergraduate degree. It takes place at the beginning of a programme and extends your studies by a year.
For students who do not yet meet the entry requirements for their desired course, taking a foundation year can mean a seamless move onto a full degree.
"I thought getting into university wasn't something I'd ever be able to do. Now I feel more confident, happier – more myself than I was before." – Haralambos Pouliasis, foundation year student
