Darcie Jones is the Vice President of Education at the University of Plymouth Students Union, serving her second term in the 24/25 academic year. Graduating from the University of Plymouth with an undergraduate degree in history, Darcie brings experience in working in partnership with national charities in efforts to connect history education and civic engagement.
Studying as a first-generation student, Darcie now campaigns on the behalf of underrepresented students, encouraging the Higher Education sector to develop inclusive practices for students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. Darcie also works to create inclusive spaces from professionals from working-class backgrounds to professionally develop and create community – establishing the first Working-Class Sabbatical Officer Network.
