Addressing growing cyber security threats through research, education and expertise
Over the past few years there has been a growing interest in the issues of cyber security and maritime security but far too little attention has been paid to the combination of the two. Research by one of the worlds leading think tanks, Chatham House, indicates the shipping industry is immature and struggles to come to grips with this new insidious threat. A structured method to understand the risks and vulnerabilities, whilst offering a road map towards maintaining a sustainable security is required.
In collaboration with the Centre for Seapower and Strategy (CSS), our MSc International Shipping programme includes the opportunity to undertake specialist study focusing on maritime security.
