Our team
The Plymouth Ocean Forecasting Centre brings together a team dedicated to delivering operational ocean forecasting systems to clients worldwide.
With core expertise in oceanographic research, engineering, numerical modelling and software development, we have the capacity to produce bespoke systems for ocean forecasting.
The Centre's strength is based on many years of involvement in national, European and contract research projects evidenced by frequently cited peer-reviewed publications.
Drawing from teaching staff in Plymouth's Faculty of Science and Engineering, we also offer a full training service based on a suite of CPD modules designed specifically for operational ocean forecasting staff. We can thus offer a complete system from model development to end-user training.
The Centre is committed to leading-edge research as well as applied solutions and supports an active group of PhD students.
Our project management capability is supported by the University's Research and Innovation team and by our in-house support staff.
