"My A levels didn't go to plan and I ended up taking a gap year. When I came back I studied a foundation course before starting the architecture degree.
Architecture offers each student a desk in a studio, a space that is yours to do as you wish with it. The studio culture here is amazing, integrating both a working and social environment into one place. Studying architecture allows you to pursue your own interests and work collaboratively with tutors to tell you if you’re straying too far from the path. The tutors here are also fantastic and as a collective the team have a spectrum of specialisms. The University’s Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business also has a range of facilities that are open to all students, ranging from wood and metal workshops to screen and 3D printing.
Studying architecture has offered me a plethora of pathways to pursue. I feel that, in studying at Plymouth, I can enter any design occupation anywhere in the world. The city is great but what I like best about Plymouth is what’s on its doorstep. It’s really easy to get out of the city and visit the coast or Dartmoor."
