The University of Plymouth attended the All-Energy and Dcarbonise exhibitions in Glasgow, the meeting place for the renewable and low-carbon energy community.
All-Energy is the largest event in the UK that promotes low-carbon energy and renewable energy supply chains. The main objective of this event is to unite the renewable energy community for two days of uninterrupted business, networking, and creating new connections. The co-located Dcarbonise event is specifically designed for energy end-users in both the private and public sectors.
Plymouth experts showcased our cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art testing facilities that support the industry in creating sustainable solutions for energy systems. Our researchers were discussing potential R&D collaborations, study opportunities, and skills development in the field of renewable energy.

Programme highlights

How can we accelerate, de-risk and optimise development and deployment of floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea?

Speakers: Kevin Forshaw and Dr Martyn Hann
In the talk, Kevin and Martyn explored the role universities play in enabling companies to bring innovative solutions to market and prepare the future workforce for the offshore renewable energy (ORE) industry. He explained how diverse research initiatives strengthen R&D in the ORE sector and how modern state-of-the-art research facilities can de-risk and optimise the development and deployment of new technology.
