Doctoral Training Partnerships (DTP) and Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) are funded by UK Research Councils and provide bespoke training for postgraduate researchers.

Through working in partnership with other organisations and institutions, the University of Plymouth provides funding and training opportunities to our students. You can find out more about each of our DTPs below.

EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership

The University of Plymouth has delivered over 150 years of internationally recognised excellence in research and education. Focusing on our strengths across the remit of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) provides an outstanding training environment to support the development of the next generation of world-leading researchers.
The EPSRC DTP starting in 2023/2024 will focus on our key cross-disciplinary research strengths in Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE), where we lead the Supergen ORE Hub, Decarbonisation, represented by our new Centre for Decarbonisation and Offshore Renewable Energy, and Health and Medical Technology, an area of strategic growth, which includes the Centre for Health Technology.
