This module is specifically designed for students who have already completed a preceptorship programme within their organisation.
It offers the opportunity to achieve academic credit for your professional preceptorship practice development by enabling you to critically consider your previous learning, explore your knowledge in a formal manner, and explore how preceptorship development can influence change in patient care and organisational development.
This module will enable you to reflect on your development in relation to the Department of Health (2012) Preceptorship Framework for nurses, NMC Guidance for Preceptorship (2020) the outcomes from the Reducing Pre-registration Attrition and Improving Retention Project (HEE, 2020).
The module embeds the philosophy of reflection on continuous professional development to enable re-validation for nurses and midwives encouraging you to engage in professional networks and discussions about your practice.
Module content includes theories of learning and development, preceptorship, and life-long learning.
Modules must be completed within a maximum of two years of the preceptorship programme.
