The MSc Advanced Professional Practice programme offers generic awards for all health and social care professionals as well as a series of specialist pathways.

All students study core modules designed to develop key advanced practitioner skills in evidence based practice, management and leadership and practice based research. If you study a generic award you’ll be able to select modules from across the pathways aligned to your individual professional development needs. If you choose a named award you’ll study pathway specific and optional modules related to your award.

For most of the programmes you may choose to study on a full or part-time basis (please check individual programme webpages) and most modules can also be taken as stand-alone options.

The University of Plymouth's Advanced Practice team works to deliver the highest quality teaching and research into advanced practice (AP) across registered healthcare professions. We work towards evidence-informed teaching and practice, evaluating our work and feedback on the results into delivery as well as a wider network of NHS policymakers and professionals.
Our research documents the impact of AP on the UK workforce, the accreditation processes, and how AP has changed practitioners' approach to continuing professional development.
