Research Title: Improved dietary formulations for the growth and health of key aquaculture species

Director of Studies: Dr Daniel Merrified

2nd Supervisor: Dr Victor Kuri

The research aims to enhance aquaculture sustainability and improve food security by evaluating new dietary formulations for freshwater fish, which are of high socio-economic importance to many (African) countries. To this end, the effect of selected yeast additives on the growth performance, feed utilisation, intestinal colonisation, intestinal histology, and health performance of omnivorous freshwater fish species such as Nile Tilapia and Common Carp is being examined.
