The Bridge (Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business)

Sally’s first role at the University was with the Arts Institute covering events for the Public Programme and managing the interns, giving her a greater understanding of internships and their function within University life.
She now works with the Research and Creative Industries (RCI) team, supporting a number of academics, organising and managing diaries, projects, payments, travel and accommodation, as well as servicing research committee meetings for the Business School and School of Art, Design and Architecture, producing agendas and taking minutes.
One of her main roles with the RCI team is finance, including using Unit 4, whilst keeping accurate financial spreadsheets, reconciling budgets and checking and rectifying any identified anomalies. She organises all the PGR spending for both the School of Society and Culture as well as the School of Art, Design and Architecture. This involves correspondence with the PGR’s, keeping accurate spreadsheets detailing spend and ensuring claims are processed and approved.
Sally has worked on several externally funded projects, in particular the CobBauge Project, an award-winning international research project in collaboration with the University of Caen. The Engaging Students in Knowledge Exchange (ESiKE) project focusing on a drive towards understanding and maximising the benefit to students engaging in knowledge exchange activity with business and community partners. Sally is the sole administrator for the Theatre and Performance Research Association (TaPRA), collaborating and communicating with partner universities, facilitating conference organisation and servicing monthly meetings.
For the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business and TaPRA she has organised events, workshops, seminars, and conferences, readily adapting to the need for online presentations during lockdown in 2019.
