Biography

Biography

I am thrilled to have joined the midwifery lecturing team for a 12-month 0.5fte secondment from University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. Qualifying as a midwife in 2017, I have gained wide-ranging experience as a rotational midwife, working across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Antenatal education, advocating positive birth experiences, homebirth and breastfeeding are my areas of particular interest.
In 2023, I became clinical lead for year three medical students during their obstetric placement, a role which I continue in addition to my academic role. My passion lies in supporting and educating future healthcare professionals, both in clinical practice and within the university setting.
