About Liane

Liane is a coastal scientist with 6 years of experience in coastal modelling and flood and coastal management. Liane is a research consultant with Coastal Marine Applied Research (CMAR), a research-informed consultancy based within the Coastal Processes Research Group

Liane's experience and skills include applying Geographic Information System (GIS) to coastal projects, numerical modelling, overtopping assessments, undertaking topographic beach surveys, undertaking coastal morphological assessment for engineering projects and using the FCRM (Fluvial and Coastal Risk Management) guidance to produce business cases. She has undertaken several coastal erosion assessments and undertaken coastal morphological assessment to inform engineering projects, business cases, strategies and Coastal Change Management Areas. As part of consultancy projects, Liane has undertaken a literature reviews on hybrid coastal defence solutions, coastal dune models and the strategic drivers for coastal defence schemes.
