Mrs Fiona Raymont

Employer Engagement Officer (Events & Liaison)

Careers Service (Academic Registry)

Working as part of the Employer Engagement Team within the Careers Service, my role is all about exploring ways in which employers can engage with our students both on campus and virtually. Part of this work involved the planning and delivery of Career Fairs, Employer insight Panels, Employer Drop-in, vacancy promotion, and working with organisations to deliver business-focused employability challenges.

Qualifications

I have worked in HE since I left school at 18 in Leicester in 1985. I have seen polytechnics become universities and the introduction and subsequent raising of tuition fees. I joined Leicester Polytechnic straight from A-levels, which went on to become De Montfort University. After 21 years there I relocated to Cornwall and started to work at the University of Plymouth.
I have few formal qualifications (2 A-Levels & NVQ Level 3 Advice and Guidance (2016) ) but I have an immense amount of experience of HE. I was based in the Library Services at De Montfort University, eventually in a position to manage frontline teams.
I have been based in the Careers Service here at Plymouth since January 2007.
