Dr. Annie Blanchette is an associate lecturer for the School of Art, Design, and Architecture (ADA) at the University of Plymouth. Her research background is in consumer culture, using interpretive research practices to explore concepts such as gender, body, identity, and nostalgia. She has a longstanding passion for design, especially in areas related to embodiment, sensory experiences, sustainability, care, and inclusivity.
Annie is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Since 2020, she has been involved with the design, games design, and digital arts program at the University of Plymouth. Before that, she taught graduate and undergraduate modules in marketing research, digital marketing, consumer behaviour, and advertising creation for various universities (University of Exeter Business School, NEOMA Business School, Stockholm University, and HEC Montréal). Apart from her academic background, Annie has years of prior experience as a strategic and creative marketing consultant.
