Andy operates as the Exhibitions Officer for The Levinsky Gallery, located within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the University of Plymouth.
With over a decade of experience working in the visual arts sector, Andy is known for his expertise in contemporary art. His career encompasses a diverse range of roles, including curatorial and projector coordinating, as well as lead technical exhibition roles. Andy’s work is characterised by his dedication to accessibility and collaboration with the art community and beyond, consistently striving to bring contemporary art to a broader audience through his curatorial vision.
Through his work at the University of Plymouth, Andy plays a crucial part in supporting the exhibitions program and coordinating events to meet the institution’s year-round schedule. He actively engages in developing new ideas through research, participating in the University of Plymouth’s Knowledge Exchange program, and enhancing public engagement. Andy is committed to delivering a high-quality program, whether he is working on in-house projects, collaborating with partner organisations, or supporting the professional development of the current cohort of students.
Through his own artistic practice, Andy also studies the parallels between auditory and visual awareness, studying the relationships between different environments and the human experience. Often delivering his outcomes through an array of mediums, including drawing, sculpture and audio.
Qualifications
Andy holds a master's degree in Contemporary Art Practices, and a bachelor's degree in Fine Art, Critical and Curatorial Practices. Throughout his career, Andy has worked in various areas within the visual arts including curation, project coordinating, exhibition administration and management, and technical roles through Educational Institutions and National Portfolio Organisations.
