The Local Government Association has issued a report regarding our children’s oral health.
Around 100 children a day are being admitted to hospital for operations to remove rotten teeth and the cost to NHS is estimated at more than £35 million a year.
The tragedy is that the vast majority of these cases would be avoidable if we cut down on the amount of sugar children consume and make sure they stick to good oral hygiene routines.
Here, the team at Peninsula Dental School provide basic advice on looking after children’s teeth.
