There are a variety of connected interdisciplinary strands in CIP – markets and competition – economic behaviour and financial performance – dynamic positioning and innovation strategy. Markets provide opportunities for investors, consumers and entrepreneurs while innovation and dynamic positioning build a competitive edge, enhancing performance. They integrate research on economic behaviour, strategy and regulation; open ended circular economy and organisation; and smart living and financial innovations. They focus on how firms and organisations position themselves dynamically in an internationally competitive environment while operating in specific markets. In this respect, CIP gives rise to three related strands: economic behaviour and organization, open ended circular economy in regional development, and financial innovations for smart living.
