Who is this course for?

The Net-Zero Action: Strategic Action Planning for Sustainable Change course is fully funded for organisations based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly through the Future is Green short courses project.
This course is ideal for anyone tasked with or interested in championing sustainability in an enterprise from any sector and of any size, whether you are a sole trader, a Small-Medium Enterprise (SME), a charity or a public sector organisation.
This course will guide you through both theory and practical action so you come away with a net-zero strategy to make your business greener.

Prerequisites

An elementary understanding of net zero and the key terms would be beneficial but not essential.

Assessment and certification

Assessment will be via full participation in the workshops and completion of a strategic action plan. A certificate of completion will be issued and Continued Professional Development (CPD) hours will be attained (12hrs).

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will:
  • have developed a strategic action plan for their business
  • be confident with net-zero concepts and strategic planning
  • have begun calculating and reducing their organisational carbon footprint
  • develop and implement net-zero strategies with operational and financial plans
  • lead organisational and cultural shifts towards sustainability
  • build networks with like-minded professionals for ongoing support.

About The Future is Green

The Future is Green is a collaborative project that delivers skills development courses and programmes to individuals across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to support the development of skills needed for the future green economy.
The project is funded by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Fund through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
