We have established a network for social care practitioners in the South West to join voluntarily.
The aim of the network is to provide a space for social care practitioners to
  • meet and discuss research related questions
  • share successes
  • ask questions about how to start, who to get help from, what to do and what is possible, and
  • listen to what others are doing.
Members of the network meet every six weeks or so online.

Funding opportunities

Career Development Awards

The School for Social Care Research's Career Development Awards are currently live and open for applications.
Our Career Development Awards will fund bespoke career development activities for individuals who are committed to developing the evidence base for social care in England. Funding of between £20,000 and £75,000 is available for activity of between 12 and 24 months.
This opportunity is open to a wide range of individuals working in social care research, education or practice at any career stage. We're keen to support pathways that develop existing social care researchers, and support moves between practice and academia, and between disciplines.
Application forms and supporting documents must be emailed to sscr-training@york.ac.uk before the deadline of Friday 14 February 2025, 17:00.
