The University of Plymouth’s commitment to outstanding business education has seen it become the first university in the UK to achieve accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
The recognition is a testament to the quality of the degrees offered through the Plymouth Business School in subjects including business and management, and accounting and finance.
It places the University among the elite institutions globally for its academic rigour and innovative programmes, and acknowledges the continuous efforts of staff to deliver the highest standards of academic excellence.
For students and graduates, it serves as an assurance that their degree meets international standards. It also opens opportunities for international collaborations and partnerships, providing students with a broader spectrum of learning experiences and career prospects.

We are incredibly proud to be the first institution in the UK to receive IACBE accreditation.

This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff. It also underscores our commitment to providing current and future students with an education that is relevant to, and prepares them for, the ever-changing demands of the global business environment.

The IACBE is a leading accreditation body for business education programmes in colleges and universities worldwide. It promotes and recognises excellence in business education, ensuring that institutions meet the highest standards of academic quality and integrity.
To achieve IACBE accreditation, which runs until July 2031, the University had to provide evidence of its excellence against a number of criteria.
These include curricula and learning opportunities, student policies and processes, student resources, external relationships, and teaching innovation.
In addition, the IACBE recognised its commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in business education, and advancing academic quality in its business programmes and operations.

This accreditation is a significant milestone for the whole University.

It highlights our commitment to excellence in education right across the subjects offered through the Plymouth Business School. It is also continued evidence of our dedication to ensuring students enjoy successful and fulfilling careers, and will give them a competitive edge in the global job market.
