Why I chose Plymouth
"I chose the University of Plymouth as I had always wanted to study in the UK, and I knew that Plymouth was well known for my area of interest: Maritime Law degrees. The fact that I could complete in a fast-track way via a 1-year degree program in collaboration with Singapore Maritime Academy was also a factor in me choosing Plymouth. "
Securing a job after graduation
"Immediately after graduation, I joined DS Norden, starting their 2-year programme (doing a rotation in both dry bulk chartering and ship operations)."
"I am still with Norden right now; it's my second year, and I am working on the Panamax Chartering Desk."
"My Maritime Law modules at the University of Plymouth, and the case laws we discussed with Dr Gauci in particular, really helped me a lot when working with charterparty contracts in my job."
Be open-minded
"I would advise any students considering studying at the University of Plymouth to be open-minded – that’s all they will really need to maximise their experience."
"They should embrace the differences of studying abroad, be ready to be independent, and go make friends!"
"There is lots of fun and adventure awaiting them. Study hard, play harder!"
