The Histories of the Unexpected podcasts by Professor James Daybell and Dr Sam Willis have had a successful first year – over 40 ‘unexpected’ areas have been explored ranging from the bookcase to the fart.
The podcast is available as part of Dan Snow's History Hit Network.
James and Sam have presented live podcasts from the University of Plymouth, Chalke Valley History festival to date.
In September you can see James and Sam presenting the podcast live at London Podcast Festival and Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival.
A key part of the reason for the success of the podcast in its first year has been the research undertaken by Plymouth History interns who work with James and Sam to prepare the weekly podcast.
The BBC's Dr Sam Willis says that it has been fantastic working with University of Plymouth undergraduate historian intern Lee Giles this year on the Histories of the Unexpected podcast.
