Why I chose Plymouth

Having done my undergraduate on international and European studies I was always interested in the international aspect of things. I believe that being able to think across geographical boundaries is very essential nowadays. It’s a very dynamic programme which keeps it interesting.

I was an exchange student at Plymouth University three years ago and I only had great memories of my time here. The University offers everything that a student may expect from their studies. Good quality education as well as opportunities for fun and social interactions.

What I am currently working on

At this moment of time, I am working on two group and one individual assignment. Regarding my group work, the first one includes interviewing a manager and their staff in order to examine their relationship.

The second group work focuses on analysing a specific industry as well as its opportunities and threats for the future. Last but not least, my individual assignment is about the marketing and strategy of the LEGO company and various aspects of it.

Next steps

Ideally, I would love to find a job in the UK in a multi-national company but I am open for any opportunity that may appear.

Studying in the city

Personally, I love the city of Plymouth. It offers a great variety of activities that may interest a young person and you are close to everything. It is also a quiet and a safe place to live and study. Additionally, the university staff has always been very kind and helpful to me and I feel that this is very vital for international students that are far away from home and need some extra help.

At this moment, I am a part of the Greek and Cypriot society but I am interested in joining the University of Plymouth Business Society.

Studying international business at Plymouth

Plymouth University provides students with well-coordinated levels of support all through the learning process and into career hood. The course modules are designed to address subject areas relevant to the local and global business sectors. I would like to work in the business sector within and outside the UK.

Opportunities beyond the programme

I am interested in the choral, swimming, skating and language cafe clubs. I intend to get more involved in their activities in the near future. In addition to my course work, I have signed up for the Business FLUX competition, Mentoring and student representative programmes.

FLUX

FLUX is a fast paced competition where you will work in a team of six to plan and present a business idea for a real business challenge, provided by an employer. These are also valuable skills for starting up your own business and being self-employed. FLUX will launch you into the world of business and will cover the key areas of Finance, HR, Marketing and Strategy/Operations.
