  • a room in our University-managed accommodation
  • or a room in accredited private accommodation

Have you considered a foundation year?

A foundation year is an alternative way to gain an undergraduate degree. It takes place at the beginning of a programme and extends your studies by a year.
For students who do not yet meet the entry requirements for their desired course, taking a foundation year can mean a seamless move onto a full degree.

For me, it was essential to come to terms with the fact that my original university plans had changed and take the necessary time to make a well-considered decision about my future. Taking this time allowed me to process my emotions and carefully evaluate the options available to me.

I never thought of myself as being smart enough for university and I thought that I had missed the sign-up date, but after looking at the University of Plymouth website I found out what Clearing is and decided to take my chances.

My Clearing experience was good. I didn’t know if I had an option to come to uni and then I received a call. I didn’t get the right grades, but Plymouth offered me a foundation year which was even better. It boosted my confidence massively and it really helped with my first year.
