Fisheries management plans (FMPs) are evidence-based action plans, developed in collaboration with the fishing sector and other stakeholders. Their purpose is to deliver sustainable fisheries for current and future generations.
Organised by the Marine Management Organisation, an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), this event is an opportunity for attendees to provide input into the FMPs for wrasses complex and black seabream. It is hoped that constructive conversations will enable views on what the FMPs should tackle and how stocks should be managed in future.
Visit the government website for guidance on both FMPs.

The event is aimed at those interested in any of these stocks to help shape future management planning. The workshop will contain sessions on both wrasses and seabream with just over an hour on each. Attendees will split into small groups to identify and prioritise issues and concerns, along with potential solutions and opportunities for the fisheries.
