Calling University of Plymouth students! The University has linked with Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership to offer you the opportunity to explore the incredible beauty around Devon and Cornwall.
We are offering a free monthly walking group for students with all travel expenses provided, using Great Western Railway to travel via train to destinations along the Tamar Valley Line and more. Walks are planned for September 2023 to June 2024 (excluding December).
The walking group provides students with the opportunity to develop social connections with others and help alleviate stressors related to studies and academic pressures through exercise, spending time outdoors and connecting with nature. It offers students the chance to discover the incredible beauty around Devon and Cornwall and demonstrate how accessible it is through the use of public transport.
  • Meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month – pick-up point on the SU Roof.
  • Free event – all travel expenses provided through Great Western Railway.
  • Exploring a new area or Devon or Cornwall each month.

About this walk...
  • The University of Plymouth Student Wellbeing Services welcomes you to Plymouth with a short walk along the waterfront to explore Plymouth's historic Hoe and Barbican.
  • This is a taster event for the Wellbeing Walks that will be held every third Wednesday of the month throughout the academic year.
  • Meet at Drake's Place Reservoir on the University campus at 11:30.
Please wear suitable footwear for walking and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions, including sun cream if it’s sunny.
