The biggest sporting event of the year is back!
Varsity is the annual student sports event of the year between the University of Plymouth and Plymouth Marjon University, which also raises money for charity.
Now in its 21st year, Varsity originally started as a challenge between the two institutions' men's rugby teams. Its primary aim was to raise money for charity but additionally, it helped to fuel a healthy sporting rivalry between the two institutions. The programme has since diversified to encompass as many sports as possible to see who is the true sporting champion in Plymouth.
We're pleased to welcome student spectators to cheer on their teams at this year's event. Last year we took the victory for the most wins but who will be the champion this year and lift the Varsity trophy? Watch the teams in action and see for yourself or visit the Varsity website for the results.
Please note that tickets must be purchased for the rugby matches at Plymouth Albion RFC on Monday 17 March and the football matches at Plymouth Argyle FC on Thursday 20 March. These will be available soon via the Varsity website by selecting the relevant match page. All other matches are free to attend with no tickets required except for the swimming event at the Plymouth Life Centre on Saturday 22 March.
