The Mayflower 400 Lecture is the 29th in a series of lectures that began with the first Pilgrim Fathers Lecture delivered by Lord Bingham in 1994.
The lecture, which by tradition embodies themes of freedom and human rights, commemorates the voyage of the Mayflower in 1620 which is described by some as one of the most influential journeys in global history and as a defining moment in the relationship between Britain, the USA and the Netherlands.
In a long list of distinguished members of the legal profession to present the lecture, we are delighted to announce The Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, will be presenting this year’s lecture.
Registration is at 18:00 with the lecture starting at 18:30 followed by networking, a drinks reception and a fantastic opportunity for Law students to engage with Baroness Carr.
The lecture, organised by the Plymouth Law Society and hosted by the University of Plymouth and Plymouth City Council, has become a celebrated annual event in the legal profession calendar, attracting current and past Lord Chancellors, Lord Justices of Appeal and Lords of Appeal.
