This short story competition is named in honour of Charlotte Fox. Her friends and lecturers want her enthusiasm and love of writing to encourage new writers.
You don't need to be a creative writing student to enter, it's open to any undergraduate student at the University.
Send us a short story of 1,500–3,000 words of your own original unpublished fiction. One entry per person.
Email your entry to us using the address below.
You can write in any genre and can be experimental or traditional in your genre and style.
Send us a Word document or a PDF with your name, student ID number and University email address on the document.
A shortlist will be published and the winning entry announced at a reception in the spring.

The Charlotte Fox Short Story Prize 2025

• Open to all current undergraduates at the University of Plymouth
• Between 1,500–3,000 words

• Shortlist of six stories will be published
