Building Skills and Empowering Communities: The Oyoko Optical Technician Training Experience, by Dr Daniela Oehring

The next lecture, by Dr Daniela Oehring, will reflect on the establishment of the Optical Technician Training Institute in Oyoko, Ghana, over two decades ago. It will discuss the initial challenges and collaborations with local and international partners to address the shortage of trained optical technicians. The session will highlight the impact of the training programme, emphasising its role in enhancing local healthcare and the key lessons learned that have guided subsequent global health initiatives. This retrospective will offer valuable lessons on sustainable educational projects in global health.
