Organised by the International Maritime Archaeological and Shipwreck Society (IMASS), the 42nd International Shipwreck Conference is run by wreck enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
Conference talks have a variety of themes including:
• Treasure – there is a considerable amount of treasure still beneath the sea
• Maritime archaeology – there is a wealth of maritime archaeology in the world's waters
• Technical diving – enabling divers and archaeologists to explore the shipwrecks first hand
• Salvors – a conversational subject but often necessary
• Maritime stories – a shipwreck often reveals many stories
• Maritime law – with more focus on conservation, the law is always changing
• Wartime losses – there were many wartime losses and many more still to find
• New techniques – used to find and document shipwrecks using techniques such as virtual reality.

The event will host a range of speakers, additionally with a lobby of stands showcasing various organisations within the shipwreck community. Teas and coffees will be provided throughout the event.
