Part of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business 'Impact Masterclass' series.
To coincide with the launch of their book, Impact Masterclass Extra: Exploring Research Impact in Academia and Why it Matters, Professor Andy Phippen from Bournemouth University and
Dr Louise Rutt
, Senior Impact and Knowledge Exchange Manager, University of Plymouth, will discuss the in-depth research they carried out with universities, researchers and wider stakeholders, to examine the role that impact can and should play in research processes, and the value it holds when positioned as part of researcher identity.
They argue that impact needs clearer articulation within university strategies across the sector, and recognition it can be an intrinsic part of research, not a bolt on because it's needed for research assessment.
This session will be introduced by
Professor James Daybell
.
