The Peninsula Medical Foundation (PMF) is an independent charity raising money for the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. PMF aims to improve health in Plymouth and the South West peninsula by supporting medical research and health-related education in conjunction with University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust and the University of Plymouth.
The PMF was founded in the 1999 to support medical research, innovation and education across Devon and Cornwall. The Foundation works with individuals, communities, businesses, trusts and foundations, all of whom shares its vision to help improve the healthcare and quality of life for people across the region and beyond.
"The future of the NHS lies – not with politicians – but in the hands of skilled and dedicated medical staff who have received the very highest quality training and support. That is exactly what they get at the Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry. By supporting the PMF you can help to ensure that it continues to be an outstanding provider of medical excellence." (Angela Rippon CBE and PMF Patron)
The PMF is thrilled to invite you to the Grand Gala Autumn Ball, dinner and charity auction at the fabulous Eden Project. The event is hosted by the PMF and proudly supported by Chris Kallis Solicitors, in aid of local brain tumour research.
Join us for another fantastic night, raising money for an incredible cause, including a three course meal and entertainment with music provided by local legends, Jessica and the Rabbits.

Our Patron, Sir Edward Bolitho, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, writes:
"The shocking statistics speak for themselves: Too many people are being faced with the devastating diagnosis each year. Throughout the UK, that extends to a staggering 16,000 people."
The incidence of brain tumours is particularly high in the South West.
By joining us at this event, you're supporting your local team of neurologists, surgeons and scientists. Local brain tumour research is already being used to save lives.
The event is a great opportunity to treat family, friends or colleagues for a special night out in a marvellous setting.
The reception is timed so that weather permitting we can stand and watch the superb autumn colours of a Cornish sunset from one of the most beautiful spots in the South West.
Brain tumours are a leading threat to human health
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, with ten lives lost each day. This presents a stark picture for public health, particularly as there is very little understanding of what causes brain tumours and this area of research is critically underfunded – receiving only 1% of the national spend on cancer research.
One of three dedicated centres in the UK
Our team of researchers, led by Professor Oliver Hanemann, works closely with the charity Brain Tumour Research as one of three UK universities with a Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence. The Centres are each invested in advancing knowledge of brain tumours, building the wealth of expertise that is needed to find a cure.
