Central Park hosts some beautiful wildlife meadows and you're invited to join the Green Communities team and Devon Wildlife Trust to find out more!
This event is an opportunity to learn some key plant and bug species, spend some time in nature and discover the hidden wildlife you walk past every day. Findings from our ID session will contribute to a wider, long-term monitoring scheme across the city.
Meet at the Central Park Clock Tower at 12:30 to walk down to the site we'll be monitoring. We'll be doing a walk over survey to observe all of the different plants we can see, alongside some quadrat surveys. Finally we'll be doing some sweep netting which involves catching and releasing insects to identify them!
No experience is required and everyone is welcome to join in. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear as we'll be within long grass and uneven ground. Bring plenty of refreshments and sun cream!
