Following the success of our ‘Disability Knowledge and Leadership ‘event last year, the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business have created a series of different events this year, one of which is taking place on Thursday 7 November in the Roland Levinsky Building.
We have two incredibly, powerful and inspirational student role models who will be the key speakers for this first series. Disability in Higher Education is something we continue to raise awareness about and advocate positive impactful change to encourage and help our staff and students succeed in their career aspirations and student university journey.
The student journey and experience differ from student to student, especially when personal circumstances arise, and barriers become apparent. Isabelle (Issy) Hart and Doaa Shayea will take us through their own journey and lived experiences.
Attending this event will provide insights into the importance of equality and equal access to opportunities for everyone. The Faculty EDI team is dedicated to raising awareness, motivating others, and exploring ways we can all contribute to meaningful change. This effort aligns with the missions of Issy and Doaa, focusing on learning from personal experiences.
Attendees will not only gain valuable perspectives but also understand how they can play a role in promoting equity and inclusion within our community.
