One Ocean Science Congress: A UN Special Event (Nice, France, June 2025)
The goal of the One Ocean Science Congress is to assess the state of scientific knowledge about the ocean and the preservation of its services and benefits to humanity. It will provide science-based recommendations to the UN Ocean Conference (UNOC) which will convene in Nice, France, in June 2025. The Governments of France and Costa Rica will co-chair the Conference, which aims to generate transformative action and provide solutions the ocean needs, supported by ocean science and funding for SDG 14 (life below water).
COP28 One Ocean Science Side Event
This side event gave the opportunity to research institutions, international organisations, and the scientific community to weigh in on the program of the One Ocean Science Congress and describe their expectations.
