Please note this event is now fully booked – page updated 12 November 2024.
If you're looking to create something beautiful and unique either for yourself or as a gift to a friend then come on down to Wembury Marine Centre where we'll be making cyanotypes!
We'll be using the intricate shapes of seaweed and a little bit of chemistry to make beautiful pieces of artwork that you can take home with you.
We'll also be learning about the different types of seaweed you can find washed up on the strandline as well as the history of cyanotypes.
Visit the Eventbrite webpage for further information.
About Wembury Marine Centre
Wembury in South Devon is a magnet for wildlife – its rocky cliffs are home to nesting seabirds and the rocky shore, slate reefs and massive wave-cut platforms provide one of the UK’s best spots for marine life. Wembury and the surrounding coastline form a Marine Conservation Area (MCA) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC). Wembury Marine Centre is the ideal place to learn about the surrounding area and its wildlife through interactive displays, regular rockpool and snorkel safaris, and other marine themed events. The Centre is managed by Devon Wildlife Trust on behalf of a partnership of funders including the University of Plymouth Marine Institute.
