We are proud to offer a range of organic food and drink items across campus that are certified organic, and in some cases, also Fairtrade. These include Owens Coffee, Matthew Algie Coffee and Karma Drinks. Additionally, we create delicious bagels and baked goods using Heritage flour from Fresh Flour, a local mill located just 23 miles from campus.
On campus, we actively combat food waste by selling 'magic bags' containing surplus food at a discounted price through the Too Good To Go app. Any remaining food waste and scraps are sent to the anaerobic digester at Langage Farm, where they are converted into electricity for the farm and returned to the National Grid.
We also reduce waste by offering reusable water bottles and cups for hot drinks in our cafes. Plus, every time you use a reusable cup, you save 20p on your hot drink!
Following our recent achievement of a two-star Fairtrade University award, we are excited to share our commitment to Fairtrade food and drink, promoting fair wages globally. During this fortnight, we'll be introducing new menu items, including a Fairtrade banana and chocolate muffin at The Container.
Celebrate with a delicious chocolate milkshake on campus! Enjoy a freshly made milkshake at the Library Cafe or grab a bottled Delamere milkshake to go.
