Join us for “Beyond the Beach: Uncovering the Global Sand Crisis” at the ESRC Festival of Social Science, an eye-opening event designed to raise awareness about the global sand crisis and foster a network of concerned individuals and stakeholders.

This event features two engaging parts:

First, explore a poster exhibition that delves into the critical issue of sand scarcity, the environmental impact of sand mining and the vital role sand plays in our world. The exhibition is open to the public, with project team members on hand to guide visitors through the displays, answer questions, and showcase various sand materials.
Second, participate in a hybrid webinar that brings together online attendees and an offline audience at the exhibition. The webinar will feature expert presentations, followed by a Q&A session.
This event aims to deepen understanding of the sand as a critical, strategic, and essential material and mobilise action towards sustainable solutions.
The exhibition event will start from 13:00 until 16:00, and the online audience can join from 14:00–15:00.
