The 2nd Annual Architecture and Built Environment Research Symposium will be held on 15 June 2022 in the Levinsky Room, Floor 3, Roland Levinsky Building, 10:00 - 17:00. 

Researchers will be presenting a diverse range of ongoing PhD research and research projects. 

There will be four thematic panels throughout the day: 

  • rethinking landscape panellists examine the role of landscape values and monitoring in processes of restoration, visual forms of reclaiming the landscape and ritualised narratologies of the landscape.
  • sustainability and materiality panellists will challenge the spatial robustness of building longevity, look towards new sustainable design methods through making and participatory housing manufacturing.
  • building performance panellists will present findings about the effects of daylight on health and productivity, the impact of smart public transport on quality of life, design methods inspired by nature and adaptive buildings.
  • socio-cultural praxis panellists will explore dialogues between urban liminality and legibility, morphology mapping of place attachments and question our right to access the water.
