Offer Holder Days are subject-specific events that give University of Plymouth offer holders a chance to take the next step towards starting their course in September by connecting them with passionate staff and current students.
They will also provide offer holders an opportunity to explore the campus and city, get any questions answered and really find out about what it is like to be a Medicine, Dentistry or Diagnostic Radiography student at the University of Plymouth.
Please note: The Medicine Offer Holder Day on 29 March is now fully booked.
There are limited booking spaces per event. Some activities take place in specialised facilities and, due to room capacity constraints, we cannot accommodate all offer holders at these events. If the event is fully booked, we will be offering a series of Applicant Campus Visits throughout April and May - please refer to the below FAQs to find out more.
When you enter your student reference number and date of birth into the booking form you will be presented with which dates you can book for your course.
Should you have any problems, please contact meddent-events@plymouth.ac.uk where the team will be happy to help.

Frequently asked questions for Medicine, Diagnostic Radiography and Dentistry Offer Holder Days

What is an Offer Holder Day?

Offer Holder Days are invite-only events for students who have made an application to the University of Plymouth and are holding an offer with us, either conditional or unconditional.
The experience is subject specific and tailored to give you the chance to explore your chosen course and the University in much more detail.

Can I bring someone with me?

Since most of the day’s sessions includes observing live teaching, participating in practical sessions and accessing our bespoke and specialised facilities we are unable to allow guests, family members or friends to attend. The event should mimic a day in the life of a student and we do really encourage the offer holders to get involved with the sessions and connect with their fellow offer holders who could potentially be starting the course with them in September. We hope you understand.
If you are travelling with friends, family members/guardians, there are plenty of things for them to do in and around Plymouth should they wish to explore the city whilst you are enjoying the day's activities. Please visit our City Culture page for ideas.

How do I find you?

The day's events will commence at our city centre campus, and some activities may take place on our north campus (if so, transport will be provided - you need not make your own way there). The address for our city centre campus is as follows:
University of Plymouth, Portland Square Building, Plymouth, Devon PL4 8AA
Unfortunately, there is no visitor parking on campus. Please visit this page for more information on nearby car parks and also how to get to campus via train/coach/bus: https://www.plymouth.ac.uk/about-us/visit/getting-here

Can you help me with travel costs?

We are delighted to offer a travel bursary as a way of thanking you for attending our Offer Holder Day. The claim form will be available on the day of the event and the bursary will be sent after you have attended the event, via bank transfer. The amount you are eligible for will depend on where you have travelled from:

PL postcodes – not eligible
EX, TA, TQ, TR postcodes – £20
All other UK postcodes* – £40

The bursary is only available to the prospective student, if you submit more than one claim per household only one bursary will be issued. If you have any questions, please email meddent-events@plymouth.ac.uk.

*The travel bursary is only available to guests travelling from a UK postcode.

What happens after I book on to an Offer Holder Day?

Once you have booked your place, we will keep in contact with you via email to provide you with all of the details needed for your event. You will be emailed a copy of the programme and this will also be provided on the day.

I’ve already been to an Open Day – why should I attend an Offer Holder Day?

Given that you are much further on with your university application, it’s likely that you’ll have questions that will differ from the ones you had before making your application and initial choices.
Offer Holder Days are invite-only events that give you the opportunity to attend course-specific activities and spend more time with future classmates, course leads and academics who will be teaching you. The day will give you the perfect opportunity to decide whether the course, university and city are the best fit for you as an individual.
You'll experience in-depth course lectures, sessions and activities that were not available in such detail at our Open Days. We understand that as well as the course, you also need to explore the University itself so we have our Accommodation Team, Student Ambassadors, Admissions Team and Student Support Services on campus, to allow you to discuss any individual requirements specific to you alongside subject specific activities. However, please note that some Medicine events may take place predominantly on our north campus where these services will not be directly accessible.

What if I am unable to attend any of the Offer Holder Days?

For anyone unable to attend an Offer Holder Day, we will be holding a series of Applicant Campus Visits throughout April and May 2025. Further information will be available nearer the time, but to register your interest in an Applicant Campus Visit please email campustours@plymouth.ac.uk.
