This is an on-campus open day running from 09:00–15:30.
Please register your attendance upon arriving at The University of Plymouth, in the Roland Levinsky Building. We will have a team to welcome you and answer any questions you may have about the day.
There will be welcome talks, subject talks, drop-in sessions, student life talks and campus tours.
You will receive a link to our online programme before the day and we will also have QR codes at the registration desk which will take you to the online programme.

All our open days and open evenings are designed to give you a taste of Plymouth, connect you with passionate staff, and help you feel confident with your choice of course.

What to expect on the day

From exploring our city campus, to talking to your future lecturers, our open day gives you a flavour of life here at the University of Plymouth. On the day, you can attend:
  • Welcome talks to introduce you to life at Plymouth
  • Finance talks to help you understand student loans and managing money at university
  • Subject-specific talks to find out more about your course and how you'll learn at university
  • Drop-in sessions where you can see the amazing Wave Tank in the Marine Building, or go for a tour around the Student Village and Student Accommodation
  • Application advice sessions for non-standard qualifications from the experts.

Help with travel costs

Travel bursaries

We are delighted to offer a travel bursary as a way of thanking you for attending our open day. The bursary will be sent after you have attended the event in the form of an e-voucher which can be used for online purchases or added to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay. The amount you are eligible for will depend on where you have travelled from;
  • PL postcode – not eligible
  • EX, TA, TQ, TR postcodes – £20
  • All other UK postcodes* – £40
To claim this, please head to the Travel Bursary Desk in the Students' Union between 09:00 and 15:30 on the day of the event. Please note, you must apply for the bursary on the day of the event, we will not accept applications once the event has finished. The bursary is only available to the prospective student, if you submit more than one claim per household only one bursary will be issued. If you have any questions, please email studentrecruitment@plymouth.ac.uk.
*The travel bursary is only available to guests travelling from a UK postcode.

Travel by bus

As part of a partnership with Plymouth Citybus we are offering the opportunity to park and ride for free at the George Park and Ride site (PL6 7HB) for people that hold an invitation to our open day. Please use the 42C service direct from the George Park and Ride to the University of Plymouth. This service operates every 30 minutes from 7am until 7pm, then every hour until 10.59pm.
All you need to do is show your open day invitation to the driver on the correct date and this will grant you access to the 42C service. This offer is valid for the invitation holder only, any additional passengers will be charged accordingly. A single ticket is £2 and a day ticket is £6 adult / £4.50 child (up to the age of 18).

Unable attend an open day? Book one of our in-person campus tours led by our student ambassadors. The tours will cover the whole of our main campus and our student guide will be well placed to answer any specific questions you may have.

Student shadowing

Experience what it is like to be a student for the day. By spending a day with a current undergraduate student, you'll have the chance to see university life for yourself. Our student shadowing sessions will be running between Monday 3 February and Friday 28 February 2025.
