The University of Plymouth has a long-standing partnership with Santander Universities offering opportunities to students.

Current opportunities

 
£1k for books, busses and bikes, Santander Brighter Futures promotional banner.

£10,000 in grants available exclusively to University of Plymouth students

Thanks to our partnership with Santander, 10 students at The University of Plymouth will each receive a £1,000 Brighter Futures Grant. 
The grant is yours to spend however you choose, whether that's rent, bills, study equipment or everyday living costs. 
Who can apply? 
  • Current students aged 18 or over 
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate 
  • Full-time or part-time 
  • You don’t need to bank with Santander to apply 
Applying is simple 
  • Register for Santander Open Academy (if you haven't already). 
  • Verify your email address. 
  • Log in and select 'Get Started'. 
  • Choose [University name] and complete your application. 
Apply by 11.59pm on 3 December 2026. T&Cs apply.

Apply now for a £5000 Santander Scholarship 

We’ve partnered with Santander Universities to offer two £5000 scholarships to support our students during the 2026/27 academic year. 
This scholarship is designed to help with education-related costs – from tuition fees and course materials to accommodation and career development. It could even allow recipients to reduce or give up part-time work during their final year. 
Who can apply? 
  • Current full-time students 
  • No requirement to be a Santander customer.
Entering is quick and easy; just follow the below steps and you can have your application finished in a matter of minutes:
  1. If you haven’t already, register for Santander Open Academy – a free online learning platform
  2. Verify your email (check your inbox!) 
  3. Log in, click ‘Get Started’ and complete the application form and online assessment.
