Key features

This 40 credit degree-level module will prepare you for qualifying training in Family Therapy and Systemic Practice.
The module focuses on the theory and develops the practice of family therapy in the context both of its historical development and its current position in health and social care provision.
You will develop your learning by systematically deepening and broadening your understanding of systemic concepts and the relationship between these concepts with ideas and practice in other psychotherapies and healthcare/social interventions.
The taught content informs and complements the skills development component, and is normally delivered by means of 14 days of teaching/seminars in 6 blocks over the academic year together with 60 hours of systemic practice.
This module can be studied as a standalone module or as an optional module towards some of our BSc (Hons) Professional Development pathways – please contact the Professional Development Unit for further information.
